VF-15 — Low Pass Filter Plugin

VF-15 brings fifteen classic low-pass filter circuits, each based on a filter from a vintage synthesizer, sampler or DJ mixer, into one simple plugin.

The collection features analog and digital designs and includes some of the most sought-after filtering circuits ever built: the smooth transistor ladder of the Minimoog, the squelching diode ladder of the TB-303, the aggressive filter of the MS-20 and the steep, super-smooth filter of the Akai S950, alongside the OB-X, the SP-1200, the VCS3, the Emulator IV, the Microwave II and more.

Each circuit carries the sonic character of the instrument it came from, which makes VF-15 as much a sound design tool as a filter. Sculpt a bassline with the rich, rounded warmth of a ladder, send a lead into a howling resonant sweep, or push a kick through a circuit's saturation until it is fat, punchy and dense. 

Resonance runs all the way to self-oscillation on the circuits that allow it, and it is there on every circuit. The drive pushes every circuit into its own kind of saturation, from a gentle thickening to grainy, raunchy crunch. Every circuit keeps the rough edges of its hardware, from the way it saturates to the way it breaks into oscillation.

The results range from subtle to extreme: a touch of analog color across a mix, or radical textures that turn any source into something new.
